Aaron & Melissa

I first met Melissa when I was asked to photograph some formal pictures at her family reunion a few years ago. I'd known her family through church and had seen her aunt & uncle actively serving in the mission field for several years, but I'd never had the opportunity to really meet this wonderful soul.

Then in November of last year, I got to know Melissa at another wedding I photographed. Melissa's beauty, calm, and kind presence absolutely struck me the moment I met her. She is a wonderful friend, a diligent attendant, and a kindhearted person to everyone she meets.

When I found out she was a teacher, it all made sense! She is absolutely born to work with kids! Melissa is so sweet and happy - and I am so glad - because I don't know anyone who could have handled a cold and rainy wedding day as well as she did!

The morning of her wedding, Melissa had messaged me some ideas for "rainy day" pictures. Without a doubt, I was so glad she was on board with embracing what the good Lord had dealt us! Every mention of "puddles" brought a smile to her face and an exclamation of "how fun!" Even Aaron overlooked getting a little soggy and had some fun outside for portraits. These two are definitely a perfectly paired, laid back, couple.

Through their ceremony, the toasts, and their specially selected "January Wedding" songs, Aaron and Melissa displayed all their love and hope for the future they have together. What a beautiful way to start a marriage...

"You had one job!"

All was going according to plan, when the officiant asked for the ring... And the best man dropped it, stunned as he watched it roll around the floor behind where the minister stood.

Everyone got a good laugh, especially when the best man finally handed over the ring.

"You had ONE job," smiled the minister.
