Ashley & Daniel... engaged!

How amazing is it when the brother of a recent bride asks you if you're available for a surprise engagement session? I mean... WOW! Talk about a happy opportunity! Daniel is the sweet brother of Hannah, who recently got married to her prince charming, Austin. I've known Daniel's family for a while, so it was just the perfect circle when he asked me to be there when he proposed to his sweet girlfriend, Ashley.

Ashley is a beautiful, quiet girl who absolutely has the most precious dog - Odin! Normally, I'm a bit nervous around big dogs... but Odin doesn't let you stay nervous. He's right up in your face, ready for a good kiss, and he definitely forgets he's big. And Ashley is the most awesome dog-mom! He's so well-behaved and, really, he's a cuddle-bug. He definitely won me over!

When Daniel laid out his plans for the engagement, I couldn't have been more excited. Ault Park is a beautiful location... picturesque green space and amazing architectural details can be found all around the pavilion that also serves as an amazing wedding and reception venue. The hardest thing, though, was getting Ashley to not notice me! In an effort to be stealthy, I followed from a distance as Daniel led Ashley and Odin up to the top of the Pavilion to look out over the sunset and greenspace.

Just as they found themselves alone (except for this incognito photographer!), Daniel got down on one knee and asked Ashley to be his forever. Sweetest. Moment. Ever!

So congratulations, Daniel & Ashley! You two are perfectly made for each other! Thanks for inviting me to capture your special moment... and for the privilege of buddying up to Odin! He's a keeper!
